TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Arema FC won away against Mitra Kukar 3-0 in Liga 1 on Wednesday, September 20. Three goals for Arema FC were scored by Ahmad Alfarizi in the 17th minute, Hendro Siswanto (52’), and Turkmen man Ahmet Atayew (59’).
Despite playing away, Arema managed to dominate the game. The Singo Edan attacks were well orchestrated by senior players Ahmad Bustomi and Christian Gonzales.
Meanwhile, Mitra Kukar largely relied on Malian midfielder Mohammed Sissoko in their build-up. But the Naga Mekes attacking moves were nullified by Arema defense line led by Atayew.
Indonesia U-22 national team star Septian David Maulana failed to do much for Mitra Kukar. Besides, goalkeeper Dwi Kuswanto successfully replaced Kurnia Meiga who was injured. He pulled off one of the best saves of the match when canceling Marclei Santos’ shot in the 75th minute.
The win away at Mitra Kukar’s home ground in Liga 1 match day 25 helped improve Arema’s record in Tenggarong. In four previous matches, they suffered three losses and drawn one.
Despite the victory, Arema FC remains in 7th position in Liga 1 table, having played 25 games with 11 wins, 7 draws and 7 losses with 40 points.
